Summer Stars Camp for the Performing Arts is a non-profit organization providing cost free performing arts education to financially disadvantaged children.  In developing a new site, Summer Stars sought to increase awareness of their program, as well as capture the feeling and depth of the Summer Stars experience.

Rowboat Productions is an independent media production firm, specializing in video and effective marketing, particularly for non-profits. The focus of the site was to upgrade the look, make the video portfolio more accessible to viewers, and to communicate the mission and services available from Rowboat.

Rowboat’s new site was built with an entirely custom theme on the Wordpress platform.

As such, I just wanted to note and credit the tools I used to get all the moving parts where they needed to be.

• FeedWordPress — Since ONEin3Money was syndicating from content partners such as Mint.com,  Jennifer Lane and hopefully others in the future, we found FeedWordPress to be an extremely helpful tool for seamlessly including syndicated content into the site. It’s intuitive, and best of all, works as expected.
• WordTwit — There are a lot of twitter tools out there, and this was the one we liked the best.  WordTwit posts an update to a twitter account when there is a new blog posting.  Not only that, but it allows one to include (or exclude) posting updates based on the category of the blog post.  And for the client, it allowed url shortening by ow.ly, which was the client’s preference.
• DISQUS Comment System — DISQUS was installed to better manage the social aspect of the site’s comments.  It offers authentication of comments over multiple credentials, and links comments and discussions through the DISQUS network.  So far, the DISQUS experience has been great.
• Events Manager — There are really not that many events management tools for Wordpress as of yet, which I find surprising.  Though still a release candidate as of today, Events Manager has the most potential, with Google API integration for Mapping, and a fairly rich feature set.  It was a tough decision, as there are definitely still a few quirky bugs, but I think this tool will straighten itself out to be a very popular and effective tool for managing events in Wordpress.

ONEin3Money.org was developed to serve the financial health needs of Boston’s 20–34 year olds, and is an off-shoot of the ONEin3 Boston community.

For ONEin3Money, a custom wordpress theme was developed, which incorporated syndication of partnering blog sites, as well as local authoring from ONEin3Money contributors. ONEin3Boston also desired to incorporate their existing community base by linking their Twitter followers and Facebook fans into the ONEin3Money site.

In addition to site design and development, B4South provided consultation on social media integration and practices, and facilitated content relationships with Mint.com.

So I post under the b4south twitter account.  Because when I test things out, I like to say ridiculous stuff, and my other twitter friends don’t need to hear my work tomfoolery on top of my regular tomfoolery.

But NONE of the new posts are appearing when I do a search of the hashtag.  Why why why???

After much googling, it appears that a new user just isn’t making it into the system these days.  In fact, when I finally broke down and just tweeted from my personal twitter some ridiculous test messages, all was well with the world.  But my nice safe b4south twitter account is INVISIBLE.  So contrarian.

SarahBlacker.com was designed to collect all aspects of Sarah’s music presence, and connect it with her fans.  It links Sarah’s social footprints, and the Wordpress platform allows Sarah to manage her own content and news.

Sarah’s site includes a guestbook, show calendar management, contact form and photo gallery.

Pam Golden’s site was designed to showcase her portfolio, as well as re-image her look.  Pam contributed to creative input, and the site was custom fit to suit her.

Inly Arts Festival was designed to document and support a rich and comprehensive interactive arts festival for young people, hosted by Inly School.
